-- I get this site free, so you have to put up with the advertising, sorry.--

I try to set up my pages so they may be easily viewed using:

Internet Explorer (Primary reference)

Netscape Navigator (Secondary reference)

In creating the websites I use two development tools:

Microsoft FrontPage (Primary)

Netscape Composer (Secondary)

Steps to creating a Website:

Create the WebPages, and put them Internet, Duh. Well there is more to it than just that!

  1. Think about how your going to lay out your site. If your not sure how you want it to look go to Internet, fund a site that looks nice to you, and use it as a reference! Making it work for you:
    1. Achieve consistency in your Web site design.
    2. Develop a common look and feel to your pages.
    3. Develop a simple and consistent navigation scheme.
    4. Avoid excessive or redundant pages.
    5. Draw/Bring your viewer to the most important parts of a page.
    6. Don't litter your pages!
    7. Stick to a simple color palette for browser compatibility.
    8. Keep to one or two fonts.
    9. Don't create pages that are too big for 640-by-480 screen.
    10. Use the browser cache intelligently, reuse images on your site.
    11. Keep your content no more than three clicks away from the home page.
    12. Try to keep your pages below three screens each.
  2. Lets Talk Meta Tags.
  3. Now lets get down to creating your site! The only thing you really need is a text editor like MS Notepad and a little know-how, and  you can get at my Site Development References.
  4. Now where to put the site? Well if you want it free go to my Free Internet Stuff, or you can use some search engines to find the Web Host that fits your needs!
  5. Now that you have downloaded your site to your Web Host, you can sit back and wait for someone to find it - right? Wrong! Now you have to tell the Internet where your site is, and what it's about! You did read about Meta Tags didn't you? Well now you need to register your site with search engines!
  6. Creating a Website is a never ending process! Yes your Website is on the Internet, but now it's time to go back, and look it over! I constantly find changes to be made! Hope this has helped!
